PTO News for December 2018

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us at our December 5th meeting. If you were unable to attend, you can find meeting minutes and a full video recording on our website.

Below are a few pieces of recent news.

Election Results

Our new president is Melisa Mannix, who received 10 votes with 18 ballots cast at our December 5th meeting.

Members also approved a fundraising and event calendar, a budget for the remainder of the year, and an amendment to our by-laws to require a minimum balance of $5,000 to carry over to the next school year.

Survey Results

Our November survey had a total of 55 respondents, including 33 families and 22 staff. We are grateful who to all provided their important feedback.

Overall, results indicate that the PTO is on the right track this year with a good level of trust and satisfaction among families and staff. The PTO will continue to work on doing even better where needed. Families and staff had very similar ideas about budget line items–both budget eliminations and budget suggestions.

Fun Run Recap

The Thanks-4-Giving Fun Run was a big success and a lot of fun for the kids. Many were begging to be able to do it again! We’re thankful to Coach D and class 5R for putting together the obstacle course that truly put the fun in fun run.

With 36% of students and 17% of staff participating in collecting donations, we earned a total of $5,956. We’re so grateful to those who shared the fundraiser with their family and friends, and for the donors who have provided so generously for our school.

Prize winners have been chosen, and a final report can be found here. Congratulations to the winners! Prizes will be distributed during the coming weeks. We will continue to accept cash and check donations, and students who bring them in will receive an Oneida Spirit participation prize.

We hope our families enjoyed their free snapshots of their fun-runners! You can find more pictures on Flickr. Below are video recaps from each day.

Thank you again for your participation and support this year. Together, we have been successful in raising more than $8,000 to benefit the students at Seneca Street.
